Maria came to me earlier this year because she fell in love with the books and artwork of Jonas Lau Markussen @jonaslaumarkussen and who can blame her. Jonas and Connor are putting out some amazing work with their Gelmir project; very informative and inspiring resources. I had the pleasure of meeting them both at the 2026 Yorvik Tattoo moot this past February. I’m sure they will be there in 2027 too! - come join us!
After a little back and forth, we sat down to create something based on some of Jonas’ recreations of ancient relics. We settled on two pieces and I combined them into a piece that would fit Maria’s lower arm. We added some color; she picked a deep blue, and I think it turned out fantastic. - I want to add more color to my nordic work in the coming months. Isar has inspired me with the color creations he’s been knocking out lately. . She sat like a champ, and we talked about Art, the premium pigments available today that were invented by the great masters and so many other things. Maria Lived in New York for a brief time when she was younger, and I got to hear some of the amazing people she met while there. . Let’s hope she picks up that paint brush and gets back to creating art. .
